It is too easy to be caught in the midst of everything we do that we don’t actually take time to love God; to commune with God.
2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier
Like the song says; “Take time to be holy.”
As the commandment reads “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Eph. 5:16)”
Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful
Don’t let Satan fool you; for the maintenance of life should not take priority over the will of God
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
If we allow the cares of life to be first; we have lost the ability to uphold the first commandment (Mark 12:30) and will find ourselves no better off than the church of Ephesus that was addressed in the book of Revelation (Rev. 2:1-5).
